Poblet, Spain 2009

Poblet, an hour away from Barcelona, is a monastery and one of the largest Cistercian abbeys in the world. It dates from the 12th century. In order to visit the monastery, you need to book the guided tour. Of course it was in Spanish, so we were given English brochures. We visited various parts of the monastery, including the beautiful courtyard. It’s located among vineyards and the fall colors were hitting their peak. The grapes had already been picked.
